ICC Action on Hasmatullah Shahidi: Recently, the 3-match ODI series between India and Afghanistan has concluded. The last match between India and Afghanistan was played in Chennai. In the same match, Afghan captain Shahidi was found guilty of code of conduct. Now this violation seems to be costing them dearly. The ICC has taken strict action and officially reprimanded Shahidi, along with which one demerit point has been added to his disciplinary record. Let us tell you that this is considered to be his first crime in the last 24 months.

Shahidi accepted the mistake

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi has accepted his mistake after being reprimanded by the ICC. He has accepted the punishment given by ICC Elite Panel match referee Madugalle. This was the reason why ICC did not need a formal hearing for this matter. Let us tell you that this allegation was lodged by the on-field umpires Chris Gaffney, Rohan Pandit and third umpire Richard Illingworth and fourth umpire Virendra Sharma.

ICC rules say that in case of violation of Level-1, apart from reprimand, the player can be given a fine of up to 50% of the match fee or one or two demerit points.

What was the whole matter?

In the final match of the three-match series between India and Afghanistan, Afghanistan captain Shahidi has been found guilty of violating the rule related to damaging the pitch. After which the ICC declared him guilty of Article 2.10.10 of the Code of Conduct applicable to players and support staff. Let us tell you that this rule is related to deliberately damaging the pitch by the batsman.
