The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the nominees for the Men’s Player of the Month for November 2025, which include two spinners – Simon Harmer (South Africa) and Taijul Islam (Bangladesh) and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz (Pakistan).
Simon Harmer and Taijul Islam were instrumental in the Test series wins of South Africa and Bangladesh against India and Ireland, respectively.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Nawaz was crucial with both bat and ball in the recently concluded Tri-Series involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
Simon Harmer (South Africa)
Spinner Simon Harmer played a crucial role in the side’s 2-0 test series win in the South Africa tour of India 2025, which was the Proteas’ first in 25 years.
Harmer claimed an outstanding 17 wickets at an extraordinary average of 8.94 across the two tests in Kolkata and Guwahati.
The 36-year-old took eight wickets in the first test match, where he was named Player of the Match and backed it with nine more in the second, which included 6/37 as India fell by 408 runs to give the Proteas a series sweep.
Taijul Islam (Bangladesh)
Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner continued his match-winning ways in home conditions as Bangladesh 2-0 series against Ireland.
Taijul Islam picked up 13 wickets at 26.30 in the 2-0 series win, finishing as the leading wicket taker. He was named the Player of the Series.
Mohammad Nawaz (Pakistan)
The All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz played a key role in Pakistan’s win in the Tri-series over Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Scoring 104 runs at an average of 52.00 and a strike rate of 114.28, he picked four wickets in the ODI Series.
Meanwhile, in the Tri-Nation series added 52 runs and claimed an impressive 11 wickets at just 12.72.
His match-winning three for 17 in the Tri-Series final against Sri Lanka capped a standout campaign and secured his player of the series honour.
Meanwhile, India’s Shafali Verma, Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong and UAE’s Esha Oza have been nominated for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for November 2025.
Player of the Month voting process
The Nominees from either category are shortlisted based on their performance by the last day of the month. The Candidates are shortlisted and voted on by the ICC Voting Academy and fans around the World.
The ICC Voting Academy comprises renowned journalists, former players, and ICC Hall of Fame members. They submit their votes by email, which accounts for 90% of the voting members.
Fans registered with the ICC can also vote via the ICC website at icc-cricket.com/awards, which accounts for the remaining 10 per cent. Winners will be announced every second Monday of the month.
