ICC announces neutral venues for India Pakistan women’s matches
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that matches between India and Pakistan at ICC events during the 2024-2027 cycle will be played at neutral venues.
This decision will apply to several major upcoming tournaments, including the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The 2025 ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, which will be hosted by Pakistan, is scheduled for February and March 2025. However, matches between India and Pakistan will be held at a neutral venue due to ongoing political and security concerns between the two countries.
The same neutral venue arrangement will apply to the India-Pakistan games at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which will be hosted by India.
Additionally, Pakistan has been awarded the hosting rights for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028, where the neutral venue rule will also be in place for India-Pakistan encounters.
Cricket Australia is set to host one of the senior ICC women’s events during the 2029-2031 period. The eight-team tournament will feature Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and Pakistan as the hosts.
