BCCI announced reward of ₹131 crore

BCCI has announced a cash prize of ₹ 131 crore for Team India. This reward will be distributed among the players, coaching staff, support staff and other members of the team.

Earlier, BCCI had announced ₹125 crore for the team that wins the 2024 T20 World Cup, but this time the prize has been increased by ₹6 crore, making it a historic bonus. Between these two tournaments, India also won the Champions Trophy 2025, for which the board had given ₹58 crore.

Apart from ICC prize money

BCCI’s reward is different from the prize money given by ICC. The International Cricket Council awarded $3 million (approximately ₹27.5 crore) of the tournament’s total prize pool to the champion team. Whereas, the runner-up New Zealand team received $1.6 million.

This extra reward from BCCI is considered to be one of the biggest bonuses in the history of Indian cricket, the purpose of which is to motivate the players to perform well in future tournaments.
