ICC T20 Rankings: Jacob Bethel’s big leap, Ishan Kishan remains at number-1; World Cup winning captain out of top-10

ICC T20 Rankings: ICC has released new men’s T20 batting rankings amid the ongoing T20 series between India and England. After England’s big win of 125 runs in the third T20 match, many important changes have been seen in the latest rankings. England’s young batsman Jacob Bethel has taken a huge leap, getting rewarded for his excellent performance, while Indian star Suryakumar Yadav has dropped out of the top-10. However, despite these changes, Indian players still dominate the T20 batting rankings.

Ishan Kishan remains at number-1

India’s wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan has retained his number-1 ranking. In the latest ranking, his rating has increased to 897 points. Earlier on July 1, he had 876 rating points in his account. Although his best rating had recently reached 904 during his brilliant performance against England, but in the current update it has come down to 897. Despite this, he remains the world’s number-1 T20 batsman.

Indian batsmen continue to dominate

India’s Abhishek Sharma remains at second position in the new ranking. He has 881 rating points in his account. Tilak Verma is also among the top players and is at sixth position. It is clear from this that Indian batsmen are continuously performing impressively in the T20 format.

The presence of three Indian batsmen in the top-10 reflects the team’s strong batting line-up.

Jacob Bethal got a great benefit

England’s young batsman Jacob Batchelor has taken full advantage of his strong performance against India. He has jumped seven places to reach eighth position. His current rating is 708. This surge of Batal is also being considered a positive sign for England, because he has proved his usefulness by scoring runs continuously.

England’s Phil Salt is fourth, while Jos Buttler remains at seventh position. With this, three batsmen from England have now joined the top-10.

Big blow to Suryakumar Yadav

This ranking was disappointing for former Indian T20 team captain and explosive batsman Suryakumar Yadav. He has slipped five places to 13th position. His current rating is 687.

Suryakumar, who was once the number-1 batsman in T20 cricket, has a career best rating of 912, but the impact of his recent performance is clearly visible on his ranking.

Glimpse of top-10 batsmen

In the new ranking, Ishan Kishan is first, Abhishek Sharma is second and Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan is third. After this, Phil Salt, Pathum Nissanka, Tilak Verma, Jos Buttler, Jacob Bethel, Mitchell Marsh and Dewald Brewis are in the top-10 respectively.

Now all eyes will be on the performance of the players in the remaining matches of the India-England T20 series, because even bigger changes can be seen in the upcoming rankings.
