ICC T20 World Cup: After Ishan Kishan’s stormy fifty, bowlers roared, Team India crushes Pakistan in Super 8

Colombo, 15 February. Suryakumar Yadav’s Team India defeated R.K. of Colombo on Sunday night. At the Premadasa Stadium, arch-rival Pakistan was not allowed to get close and defeated them by 61 runs in a one-sided match. The joint hosts also booked their Super 8 ticket with their third consecutive win in Group A of the ICC T20 World Cup cricket tournament.

Kishan scored 77 runs, India reached 175 runs

The Indian team, which lost the coin toss, once again did not join hands with its rivals. With the explosive fifty of opener Ishan Kishan (77 runs, 40 balls, three sixes, 10 fours) and useful innings of other batsmen, Surya and company scored a strong score of 175 runs for seven wickets.

Pakistan collapsed for 114 runs in front of Pandya, Bumrah, Varun and Akshar and company.

India tops group with biggest win over Pakistan in terms of runs

This is India’s biggest win against Pakistan in terms of runs. The interesting fact is that this is India’s eighth win against Pakistan in nine matches in the T20 World Cup while it has faced defeat in only one match. In this sequence, India has maintained its top position in the five-team group with a maximum of six points due to its third consecutive win. In the first two matches, it had defeated America and Namibia respectively. Now he will complete the formalities by playing against Netherlands in Ahmedabad on 18th February.

However, except Ishaan, who completed his second consecutive half-century off 27 balls, other batsmen had to struggle to play big shots. Rinku Singh (11 not out, four balls) took India’s score beyond 170 runs with fours and sixes on consecutive balls of Shaheen in the last over of the innings. West Indies advance from Group C to Super 8 after defeating Nepal by nine wickets

West Indies and America won the two other matches played on the first day of the India-Pakistan clash. West Indies defeated Nepal by nine wickets in Mumbai to secure a place in Super 8 from Group C. After bowling out Nepal for 8-133, the Caribbean team scored 134 runs for one wicket in 15.2 overs. West Indies are on top in the group with their third consecutive win while England are in second place with four points after two wins and one defeat.

America defeated Namibia by 31 runs

On the other hand, America achieved its second win in Group A by defeating Namibia by 31 runs in Chennai. After making a strong score of 199 runs for four wickets, America allowed the Namibian team to reach 168 runs for six wickets. America is now in second place in the group with four points from two wins after playing all four matches, while Pakistan has slipped to third place after the defeat by India. Namibia has not been able to open its account after three matches.
