Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has planned a colorful closing ceremony before the final match, in which international pop superstar Ricky Martin will also perform. ICC has confirmed this.

Ricky Martin is going to give a specially prepared live performance at the event starting at 5.30 pm Indian time. Fans are thrilled to hear the news of the performance of this singer, who is popular worldwide for his powerful voice, tremendous stage presence and Latin pop songs. Ricky is expected to give an exciting and memorable experience to the fans who came to watch the match.

ICC wrote on its official X platform, ‘The T20 World Cup party has now become bigger. We are delighted to announce that global icon and superstar Ricky Martin will be the highlight of the closing ceremony ahead of the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. You won’t want to miss this event.

ICC has said that the stadium gates will open at 3.30 pm on the day of the final. Ricky Martin’s show will begin at 5:30 p.m. After this program the final match will be played between India and New Zealand.

If seen, the Indian team has reached the finals for the fourth time in total and for the second consecutive time. Team India won the first T20 World Cup played in South Africa in 2007 by defeating arch-rival Pakistan. After this, in the last edition played jointly hosted by America and West Indies in 2024, the team led by Rohit Sharma became the champion by defeating South Africa.

Surya and company’s eyes are set on creating double history

In fact, the Indian team has its eyes set on creating double history. If Surya and company are successful in defending the title by defeating New Zealand, then they can become the first team to win the T20 World Cup twice in a row. This will also be the first time that a host nation will win the title. New Zealand has reached the final for the second time. The last time the Kiwis played the final was against Australia in Dubai in 2021, in which they had to face defeat.
