ICC Test Rankings: Big shock to Virat Kohli, out of top-20 after 10 years

New Delhi. Former Indian team captain Virat Kohli has suffered a huge loss in the ICC Test Rankings released on Wednesday. Kohli has been out of the top-20 due to his poor performance against New Zealand. This is the first time since 2014 that Kohli has fallen out of the top-20 in the ICC Test Rankings. Kohli scored only 93 runs in the three-match Test series against New Zealand, of which 70 runs were the best and is now ranked 22nd in the ICC Test Batting Rankings for men's batsmen in the Test format.

India's experienced batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were flopping in the recently concluded series against New Zealand and were losing wickets cheaply against spinners. New Zealand was the first team in the history of Test cricket to defeat India 3-0 on its home ground. Indian team captain Rohit Sharma also did not score runs from his bat. He has lost two places and is at 26th position.

Former England captain Joe Root tops the batting rankings in Tests, he scored a double century on the Pakistan tour. Root is followed by Kane Williamson and Harry Brook. India's young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has also lost one place and has slipped to fourth position. Wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has gained five places and has reached sixth position. Shubhman Gill is present at 16th position.
