ICC wants PCB to accept hybrid model for Champions Trophy 2025: Report

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) once again clarified their stance of hosting all the matches of the 2025 Champions Trophy at home, refusing to accept the hybrid model proposed by the BCCI to ICC. With the Indian cricket board not in favour of sending their team to Pakistan, it is up to the ICC to ensure that the tournament takes place without any team backing out.

After PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi reiterated his stance of not accepting the hybrid model, it has been reported that pressure is being put on Pakistan to soften their approach and accept the hybrid model proposed by BCCI.

According to various reports, some top cricket administrators in the ICC have reached out to the PCB, asking them to accept the hybrid model. It is also reported that PCB’s firm stance on the matter could lead to massive financial implications.

It has also been reported that the Champions Trophy schedule will be out soon. If India don’t participate in the ICC Champions Trophy, the tournament may even become a loss-making venture considering the revenue that Indian cricket brings especially on the international spectrum.

“We are still in discussions with the host and participating members on the Champions Trophy schedule. It should be out soon, likely in a couple of days or so,” the report quoted a source as saying.
