Let us tell you that the Women’s T20 World Cup was launched in a grand manner on Sunday, when London’s famous Waterloo Bridge was converted into a big cricket pitch for the first time. Before the T20 World Cup starting from June 12 in England and Wales, all the 12 captains were present at this famous landmark of London. The world’s best players were taking part in the Captains Carnival on the River Thames.

This was the first public gathering of all 12 captains before the T20 World Cup and was held at London’s famous landmarks, including Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral and the London Eye. This was a strong symbol of the global growth, visibility and appeal of women’s cricket. The iconic Waterloo Bridge was transformed into an epic celebration of cricket and culture as the anticipation awaited for an upcoming event that promises to redefine what is possible for women’s cricket on the global stage.

During this, ICC Chairman Jay Shah said, ‘This is an important moment for women’s cricket and in our opinion, this is the perfect way to start the most exciting and biggest ICC Women’s T20 World Cup ever.’

Let us tell you that, ‘Tickets have already been sold around 200,000. This is a record-breaking figure even before the tournament has started and comfortably surpasses the benchmark of the previous ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. When the action begins in less than a week, more records are going to be broken.

Team India will play practice match on Monday

Team India, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, is going to play its first practice match with West Indies tomorrow i.e. on 8th June. The Indian cricket team has to play its first match in this tournament with Pakistan, which is going to be held on June 14.
