If Allah exists then why doesn’t he save the innocent children of Gaza? Javed Akhtar’s sharp question, created ruckus in Muslim society!
Famous lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar raised such a question on the existence of God in a debate that the entire hall came to a standstill. “If God is truly omnipotent, present everywhere, then why is He not saving the children who are dying and suffering from hunger in Gaza?” – This question of Javed Akhtar has spread like wildfire on social media.
Gaza taunt of Javed, who calls himself an atheist
During the “Debate on the Existence of God”, Javed Akhtar directly asked – “If you are omnipotent, present everywhere, then you are also present in Gaza, right? More than 35,000 children below ten years have been killed there, thousands are in bad condition due to hunger and thirst. All this is happening since the Israeli military action started after October 7, 2023. Still, you want me to believe you?”
Javed Akhtar called himself an atheist and said that even if God exists, he is silent even after seeing the condition of children in Gaza. There is huge resentment in the Muslim community due to his statement. Many people are calling it a direct attack on Islam and Allah.
Direct confrontation with Muslim Maulana
He asked this question to Islamic scholar Maulana Shamail Nadvi. The debate was being moderated by Saurabh Dwivedi, founder editor of The Lallantop and famous journalist. In this two-hour long debate, faith, logic and evidence were deeply examined.
Maulana Shamail Nadvi had said – “Do not claim that God does not exist about what you do not know.” In response, Javed Akhtar said – “No philosopher or scientist claims to know everything. Man should accept his ignorance, and not say anything with full confidence.”
What else happened in the debate?
There was also a heated argument between the two as to whether the majority decision is always right? The entire debate revolved around the existence or non-existence of God and touched upon many controversial issues.
Javed Akhtar’s Gaza question is trending on social media. Some are in his favor while others are outright calling him Islamophobic.
