If crackling sound comes from bones in winter, then include this magical gum in your diet.
News India Live, Digital Desk: As soon as the winter season arrives, not only the elders of our house, but now the soldiers too suffer from one problem, the pain of bones and joints. Stiffness in the waist while getting out of the quilt in the morning, pain in the knees while climbing stairs and ringing in the bones have become common. We eat pain killers and apply balms, but we get relief only for a short while. In such a situation, we remember our grandmothers. Do you remember? She always used to make ‘Gond Ke Laddu’ by filling cans in winter. We used to think that it was just a sweet, but actually it was a ‘medicine’ which kept their body strong like iron throughout the year. Come, let us know in simple language how that ‘Edible Gum’ is no less than a miracle for your body in winters. What does this ‘gum’ do? First of all, let us clear the confusion. This is not that adhesive glue, but a natural ‘resin’ extracted from the trunk of trees. The gum that is used in winter has a warming effect. When you fry it in ghee, it swells like popcorn. Bones get strength: It contains abundant amount of calcium and protein. It strengthens the bones from inside and increases bone density. Natural lubricant: Just as a machine needs grease to run, similarly our joints need liquid to run. Gum helps in retaining the same liquid in the body, which provides relief from the pain of ‘Arthritis’. Sure cure for back pain: Women who have given birth or people who work sitting at a desk all day long, often have back pain. Gum gives strength to the spinal cord. The right and tasty way to eat it is that it is not eaten raw. The best way to do this is in the form of laddu or panjiri. Heat desi ghee in a pan. Add small pieces of gum in it. They will swell and become bigger. Now grind them coarsely in a mixer or by hand. Add roasted wheat flour, lots of dry fruits (cashew nuts, almonds, walnuts), and jaggery for sweetness (jaggery is better than sugar). Make round laddus. When and how much to eat? Eat a ‘Gon Laddu’ every morning for breakfast and drink a glass of lukewarm milk on top of it. That’s it! Believe me, in 15-20 days you will feel new energy in your body. You will feel less cold and joint pain will also start disappearing. Caution is also necessary as the nature of gum is hot and there is a lot of ghee used in it, hence eat it in ‘limit’ only. One laddu a day is enough. If you have cholesterol or heart disease, then take doctor’s advice or eat it cooked with less ghee.
