If extradition is refused…; Bangladesh warns India on Sheikh Hasina case

-A large number of crimes have been registered against former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

New Delhi. Sheikh Hasina case: A few months ago, Sheikh Hasina had resigned due to the ongoing tension regarding job reservation in Bangladesh. After that Sheikh Hasina came to India and is still living in India, cases are registered against her in Bangladesh. Bangladesh has started efforts for his extradition.

Bangladesh is continuously making statements regarding Sheikh Hasina. Asif Nazrul, Law Minister in the interim government of Bangladesh, said on Friday that there will be strong opposition if India refuses to extradite Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh's International Criminal Tribunal on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against Sheikh Hasina in a case of human rights violations. The court had ordered that Sheikh Hasina be produced by November 18.

Nazrul said that we have many legal arrangements for the extradition of Sheikh Hasina. There is already an extradition treaty between India and Bangladesh. India may refuse citing other rules, but honestly and legally India is bound to extradite Sheikh Hasina.
