“If I get literally hostile reactions from 100 million….”Shakib Al Hasan receives a massive warning from BCB due to this reason

In order to seek protection for his last Test match at home Bangladeshi cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has been asked to take a political position. Speaking prior to the commencement of the second test match against the India tour, Shakib announced that he was stepping down from the sport and wished to play his concluding match in Dhaka against the South African team. Yet, he mentioned that he was involved in the allegations in a murder case filed in Bangladesh and that there was no way he could return to Bangladesh without guarantees from the state that he would be safe. The advisor on youth and sports in Bangladesh Asif Mahmud spoke on Shakib’s desires and pointed out that security will be provided to him as it is to every cricketer. Of course, he however noted that Shakib’s past as a politician is also difficult to overlook.

“The issue again has been taken up by BCB and in any event the state owes a duty to provide protection to all her citizens. Of course we will do this. In this context, Shakib Al Hasan is to be remembered and even dealt with as a cricketer and a politician at the same Shakib Al Hasan denied attending nationalism wed by politicians undertook while their House was still in session, harbored rather mixed feelings. For his part we have no doubt that cricketer Shakib will be accorded the same level of protective security which is given to cricketers based on need. “But in case people don’t agree on his political stance and tend to protest against him. For example, I have five policemen and one private bodyguard, and I don’t know, if I get literally hostile reactions from 100 million in this country who have a 160 million population, then will these five or six people keep me safe?

“So, anger directed at me is something that I will have to speak about in order to decrease. I believe he has to clarify his stance and explain his political views,” he stated.

“In the past, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has spoken about his constitution. If such are the persons’ security risks, then there can be no security assurances to anyone. Even Sheikh Hasina could not be guaranteed that kind of protection and she had to escape. Therefore, it is important for Shakib to be clear about his political position,” he finalized.
