‘If OBC CM is removed…’, Siddaramaiah will be happy to hear from former CM Bommai

Some media reports recently claimed that Karnataka’s current CM Siddaramaiah will resign from his post on May 28. Deputy CM DK Shivakumar will be promoted in his place. However, there has been no official confirmation of these news yet. But everyone knows that there is a power tussle going on in Karnataka Congress. DK Shikumar has raised the demand with the high command to implement the two and a half year formula.

Now former CM and BJP MP Basavaraj S Bommai reacted to the political tussle in Karnataka. He said that if Siddaramaiah is removed now, Congress will have to suffer losses in the assembly elections to be held in 2028. Siddaramaiah comes from OBC community. This society will be angry with this decision of Congress.

‘All is not well in Karnataka Congress’

He said, ‘The problem arose the day Siddaramaiah was elected Chief Minister. It was not a unanimous selection. For the last three years they have been talking about change of power. He ignored the people of Karnataka. The marathon meetings show that all is not well within the ruling party in Karnataka.

Bommai further said that if Rahul Gandhi removes the OBC leader (Siddaramaiah) then it will be proved that he is not for OBCs. His decision will impact the Indi alliance. OBC leaders in the alliance will not take this decision lightly.

‘So OBCs will be angry with Congress’

He claimed that whenever a Chief Minister is removed, it has an impact. If any OBC leader is removed then OBC people will be unhappy. This will create many problems for Congress in the 2028 assembly elections.

Congress does not tell the truth: Bommai

On speculations about change of CM, he said that Congress never told the truth to the people. Who will believe what they say? I don’t think if this happens there will be a smooth transfer of power. An agreement has been made with Siddaramaiah. He had manipulated in his own way. He became CM twice. I don’t see an immediate rebellion.
