“If Sarfaraz Khan has leaked dressing room conversation, you should have talked to him”: Harbhahan warns Gambhir of the repeat of the Greg Chappell era
Harbhajan Singh is miffed with Gautam Gambhir on the reports that he informed the BCCI that Sarfaraz Khan leaked the dressing room conversions to the media. He warned the head coach of the repeat of the Greg Chappell era during his time if the rumors doing the rounds after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 are true. The News 24 revealed that Gambhir blamed the young batter in front of captain Rohit Sharma, chief selector Ajit Agarkar, and the top brass of the board.
The surprising part was even this conversation was leaked, and the media published several stories. Sarfaraz didn’t get a game in the five-Test series in Australia despite playing the previous series against New Zealand.
“It is the duty of the senior players to give knowledge to the young cricketers. If Gambhir has taken Sarfaraz’s name and the cricketer has done so, it is wrong. Dressing Room talks should remain there. You should sit with the player and solve the matter. A lot of rumors are doing the rounds, and it is not good for Indian cricket. We could see the repeat of the Greg Chappell era. We faced a similar situation in 2005-06 when Chappell was the head coach,” Harbhajan Singh said.
“Whatever happened in Australia and after that, be it the series defeat or the performances of the players, there is no need for new stories from the dressing room on a daily basis. If Sarfaraz Khan did this in Australia, Gambhir is the coach and should have talked to him. He is a young player and will play for India in the future,” he added.
Bhajji was unhappy with the way things were coming out in the open. “Who is doing this and why? You shouldn’t talk bad about your own family members,’ he concluded. India will now take on England in the five-match T20I series at home.
