If the full video of Maharashtra’s Epstein scandal Baba Ashok Kharat comes out, will the government fall? Congress’s claims created a stir
News India Live, Digital Desk: The allegations of sexual harassment against self-styled godman Ashok Kharat in Maharashtra have now taken the form of a big political storm. Veteran Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar has made a very sensational claim in this matter. He says that if this whole dark truth related to Baba Kharat is exposed, then it can have a direct and big impact on the state government. The Congress leader has expressed apprehension that Kharat may be made a mere ‘scapegoat’ to save influential people and big white collars. Is evidence being destroyed? Comparison with ‘Epstein Scandal’ During an informal conversation with the media, Wadettiwar directly linked this case to America’s infamous ‘Jeffrey Epstein Scandal’. Making serious allegations, he said that in this high-profile case, every effort can be made to destroy the evidence. He also expressed apprehension that the life of accused Ashok Kharat may also be in danger due to fear of revealing the secret. Sword hanging over 39 MLAs! Demand for disclosure of names: The Congress leader has demanded strict legal action in this case against all the helpers who allegedly gave protection to Kharat. He prominently mentioned the statement of Minister Deepak Kesarkar, in which the Minister had claimed that 39 MLAs were in contact with Kharat. Wadettiwar challenged and said that the government should immediately make the names of all these MLAs public and criminal cases should be registered against them. His clear allegation is that a big game is being played to hush up the matter. Targeting PM Modi’s policies, along with the issue of Baba Kharat, Wadettiwar also made a scathing attack on the Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He alleged that due to the West Asia crisis, queues are being formed in the country for essential things like LPG, but the government’s entire focus is only on shining electoral politics. He put the government’s preparedness in the dock regarding the current situation. More than 100 complaints, remand extended till April 1. Meanwhile, a Nashik court on Sunday extended the police custody of Ashok Kharat, the main accused of rape and sexual exploitation, till April 1. Let us tell you that Kharat was arrested on March 18. Kharat, who runs a temple trust in Mirgaon, Nashik, was accused by a woman of raping her continuously for three years. According to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the police, till now they have received complaints from more than 100 women over phone. So far 10 FIRs have been registered against this ‘Dhongi Baba’ in Sarkarwada police station. Government lawyer Shailendra Bagde has made shocking revelations in the court regarding intoxicating water and ‘fake names’ of politicians. He said that Kharat used to make the women drink some special ‘water or liquid’ before sexually abusing them, the investigation of which is yet to be done. Apart from this, ‘clone report’ of the mobile phone of the accused has also come. SIT is now investigating in depth whether Kharat had saved the numbers of political bosses and big leaders in his phone under fake names. However, the defense lawyer opposed the extension of the remand claiming that the investigation has been completed, but the court has given more time to the police for interrogation.
