‘If we come to Delhi, Amit Shah will be washed away’, why did Abhishek Banerjee say this?

Trinamool Congress leader and MP Abhishek Banerjee has once again launched a scathing attack on Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Abhishek Banerjee has addressed Gyanesh Kumar as ‘Vanish Kumar’ and said that if even one third of TMC workers come to Delhi, then Amit Shah and Gyanesh Kumar will be washed away. While addressing a rally in South 24 Parganas on Friday, Abhishek Banerjee lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and tauntedly asked whether those who insulted Rabindranath Tagore and Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay will save Bengal?

TMC has announced to hold such rallies in the entire state. Interestingly, instead of Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee is seen in these rallies. The first rally was organized in Baruipur and this rally was named ‘Ran Sankalp Sabha’. Regarding this rally, TMC has written, ‘Bengal will not bow down to any conspiracy or threat. No matter how many attacks there are, Bengal will resist and emerge victorious.

What did Abhishek Banerjee say on Amit Shah?

In this rally, Abhishek Banerjee once again mentioned the meeting with CEC Gyanesh Kumar. He said, ‘Vanish Kumar be ready. TMC is ready and we are coming to Delhi. If one-third of TMC supporters come to Delhi, then Gyanesh Kumar and Amit Shah will be washed away. Describing his future plans, Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘BJP wants to snatch away the rights of the people through SIR. People will show their strength by giving him a grand farewell. Today I am starting a campaign for the upcoming elections. Tomorrow I will go to Alipurduar and after that I will go to many other districts also. I will fight for all of you on the ground as Mamata Banerjee’s soldier.

He said, ‘These BJP people defame Bengal and say that it is full of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis. When I asked Gyanesh Kumar how many Bangladeshis and Rohingyas were removed from the voter list, he started pointing fingers at me. I told him – put your finger down, you are nominated, I have been selected. People are dying here and Gyanesh Kumar is expecting that if I go to meet him, I will bring flowers. This is TMC. This time I had gone, next time if Mamata Banerjee goes, what will you do? In this election they not only have to be defeated, this time these ‘anti-Bangla’ people have to be taught a lesson.

Questions asked to BJP

Referring to Amit Shah’s visit to Bengal, Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘A few days ago the Home Minister said that he will transform Bengal into a Golden Bengal state. Then why are Bihar, Tripura and Assam not being made golden states? 11 people died after drinking poisonous water in BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh. BJP, which is not able to provide things like water to the people, has no right to speak on the rights of the people.

Attacking BJP on the issue of Bangladesh, Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘Suvendu Adhikari says that Mohammad Yunus is running a better government than West Bengal. You all know that Dipu Das was murdered in Bangladesh and BJP leaders are saying that Yunus is running a good government. Is this the Hindutva of BJP? Those who insult Rabindranath Tagore and Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay will save Bengal?
