Now Delhi government is going to end this hesitation. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced that the Centre’s ‘Raah-Veer’ The plan will be implemented. Under this scheme, any person who helps a seriously injured road accident victim during “Golden Hour” Anyone who reaches the hospital or trauma center within 25 days will be given a cash prize of ₹25,000. “Golden Hour” That is the first hour, when treatment is received on time, life can be saved.

Why was this scheme brought?

Speaking on the scheme, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, ‘Many people are hesitant in helping out of fear of legal complications or police action. This scheme will remove such apprehensions and encourage citizens to come forward.” The aim of the government is clear that after the accident, the victim should get immediate treatment and people should not step back due to fear. This initiative will motivate citizens to come forward responsibly.

Who can take the prize?

• Under the Rah-Veer scheme, any person who transports a seriously injured person to a medical facility within the golden hour will be eligible for the reward.
• Even if multiple people are helped in the same incident, the maximum reward in that case will be only ₹ 25,000.
• Along with the cash prize, a certificate of honor will also be given to the person who helps. Not only this, every year 10 people will also get a special award of ₹ 1 lakh at the national level.

Legal protection will also be available

This scheme was created under the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019 under the ‘Good Samaritan’ It has been prepared as per the rules. Under these rules, the person who helps in a road accident is protected from legal and police troubles. The government has tried to increase people’s confidence by combining economic incentives and legal protection.

Transparency and payment process

Every case will be investigated by the district level evaluation committee. This will include District Magistrate, Senior Police Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Regional Transport Officer. After completion of verification, the reward amount will be sent through online transfer to the bank account of the verified beneficiaries.
