If you use AI for every small and big task, then change your habit immediately, otherwise it may prove costly.

New Delhi: In today’s digital world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming an important part of the daily routine of the youth. From studies, office work, information about minor diseases to removing loneliness, AI tools are being used in every need. While technology has made the work easier, scientists are now also warning about its increasing use.

Researchers say that excessive dependence on AI can affect the natural capabilities of the human brain. Its effect can be more serious especially in adolescence and young age, when the brain is developing rapidly.

AI’s impact on the brain: What science says

Many studies conducted by scientists have revealed that continuous use of AI tools can have a negative impact on the ability to think and analyze. During a research, 54 volunteers (whose age was between 18 to 19 years) were given the task of writing an essay.

These participants were divided into three groups. The first group was allowed to use ChatGPT, the second group was asked to take help of Google AI, while the third group was instructed to write articles on their own without any AI tools.

Brain activity tracked with EEG

During this study, scientists recorded the brain activities of the participants with the help of EEG headset. Its aim was to understand how the brain reacts to writing in different ways and what differences there are in mental activation.

Shocking results emerged

When the results came out they were surprising. Teachers found that essays from students using ChatGPT lacked depth and emotional connection. Along with this, the brain activity of this group was also found to be relatively low in EEG data.

Students who wrote with the help of Google AI showed more mental activity than ChatGPT users and their essays showed a certain degree of depth of thought. At the same time, those who wrote essays on their own without any AI, teachers felt the most connected to their writing and their brain activity was also found to be the highest.

Dangers of Over Dependence

According to research, people who are overly dependent on AI tools show signs of reduced brain activity as well as memory loss. Scientists say that if AI is used continuously in the initial years of brain development, then the natural capabilities of the brain do not develop fully.

expert opinion

Experts are of the opinion that the use of AI tools is not completely wrong, but its balanced use is very important. Excessive dependence can weaken the brain’s ability to think, understand and remember in the long run. So make technology helpful, not an option.
