The Indian team registered a spectacular victory in the T20 World Cup 2026 and won the title for the second consecutive time. Meanwhile, Team India’s all-rounder Shivam Dubey took a decision which is being discussed a lot. His decision is also surprising people. Where all the cricketers are returning to their homes by flight. Whereas, Shivam Dubey traveled from Ahmedabad to Mumbai by train. When his traveling by train came into discussion, he himself explained the reason behind this decision.

 

Shivam Dubey wanted to return to his home after the World Cup final match held in Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat. When he decided to go home, he could not find any flight. In such a situation, he decided to travel by train. Dubey himself told that he wanted to meet his children as soon as possible, so he returned home using the fastest option available.

Sudden decision taken after winning the World Cup

Shivam Dubey decided to go home only after winning the thrilling final match held in Ahmedabad. He lives in Mumbai and he checked for Ahmedabad to Mumbai flight after the match was over but there was no flight in the night after the match was over. He wanted to return to his home as soon as possible. In such a situation, he decided to go by train early in the morning.

Traveled in third AC

Shivam Dubey told that he was going to Mumbai with his wife and a friend. He got a seat in third AC, so decided to travel by that. He told that he could have gone from Ahmedabad to Mumbai by road but the train would have taken him to Mumbai faster and was also comfortable.

I was in a hurry to meet the children

Shivam Dubey left Ahmedabad the very next morning of the match. He told that he wanted to reach his home as soon as possible because his small children were waiting for him. Shivam Dubey’s wife had reached Ahmedabad to watch the final match and his four-year-old son Aayan and two-year-old daughter Mehvish were in Mumbai. He was in a hurry to meet his two children and that is why he traveled with the first means available to him. He said that the joy of winning the World Cup had its place but meeting the family was equally important. So he decided to travel immediately and caught the morning train.

While traveling by train, Dubey was also worried that someone might recognize him. Many cricket fans had also reached Ahmedabad from Mumbai, who were returning to Mumbai by the same train after the final. After winning the World Cup, there was an atmosphere of celebration across the country and many people were present at the station also. In such a situation, if anyone had recognized Shivam Dubey, it would have become difficult for him to travel by train. To hide his identity, he wore a cap, mask and full sleeve t-shirt so that he could look like a normal passenger. He also told that the train was at around 5.10 in the morning, so it was expected that there would not be much crowd on the platform at that time.

What about train travel?

Dubey told that after boarding the train, he went straight to his upper seat and remained there most of the time so that no one could see him. Even when he went to the washroom in between, no one recognized him. However, when he reached Mumbai, he was a little worried that people at the station might recognize him. Therefore, he contacted the police in advance so that there was not much crowd at the station and he could easily reach home.
