IFFCO is ready for the global conference of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA).
New Delhi. India is all set to host the global conference of cooperatives for the first time in the 130-year history of the global cooperative movement under the leadership of IFFCO (Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative). In June 2023, due to the efforts of Dr. Uday Shankar Awasthi, Managing Director, CEO of IFFCO, ICA accepted the invitation and entrusted India with the responsibility of hosting it for the first time in 2024. This conference has the efficient, effective, visionary and effective leadership of Dr. Uday Shankar Awasthi.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will launch the 'United Nations International Year of Co-operation 2025' on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the five-day International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) Global Summit in Delhi from 25-30 November 2024. Union Cooperation Minister, Niti Purush, Amit Shah will be present as the chief guest in this program on 25th November and will preside over the inaugural session of the Global Cooperative Conference.
About 3,000 delegates will participate in this conference, including 1,000 foreign delegates. Bhutan's Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and Fiji's Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamika will also be guests of honor at the conference. More than 100 countries are participating in the conference. This event will be an opportunity to showcase the strength of Indian cooperative societies. There are eight lakh cooperative societies in India.
The program will be carbon-free and 10,000 Peepal trees have been planted across the country. In this program, only vegetarian food will be served to the guests and the program will be alcohol-free. The theme of this program will be 'Creating prosperity for all through cooperation'. The sub-themes will be – 'Enabling Policy and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem', 'Nurturing Purposeful Leadership to Create Prosperity for All', 'Reaffirming the Cooperative Identity' and 'Shaping the Future: For All in the 21st Century' To realize prosperity'.
