IFFI 2024: Rakhee Gulzar makes a rare appearance, opens up about Karan Arjun re-release

New Delhi: In a surprising turn of events, veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar recently graced the ongoing 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa with her rare public appearance. The 77-year-old star exuded charm and grace as she walked the red carpet for her comeback film Aamar Boss.

The Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy directorial is scheduled to be released in December 2024. Its storyline revolves around a single mother who spares no effort to provide a better life for her son despite facing financial hardships. The movie also stars Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Pradeepto Ray in pivotal roles.

It is to be noted that the celebrated film festival, featuring an impressive lineup of more than 180 films, began on November 20, 2024. It will continue until November 28, 2024.

At the prestigious event, Rakhee also opened up about the rerelease of her blockbuster flick Karan Arjun. News agency NAI quoted her as saying that the younger generation would really enjoy the film and even small children would find it delightful.

For the unversed, the Rakesh Roshan directorial returned to cinemas on Friday, November 22, 2024, ahead of its 30th anniversary. In the action thriller, Rakhee portrayed the iconic character of Durga Singh, a role that skyrocketed her popularity and made her a household name.

Karan Arjun featured Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in lead roles. With its intriguing plot and compelling performances by the star cast, the film successfully won the hearts of audiences. It was also a massive Box Office success, securing the second spot among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 1995.
