IIT Kanpur’s FARE fellowship for PhD students in detail

New Delhi: The students who are doing PhD should know about the fellowship programme by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Kanpur). The objective of the fellowship programme- Fellowship for Academic and Research Excellence (FARE) is to encourage timely completion of doctoral studies while promoting high-quality research output. The candidates can apply at iitk.ac.in.

Who can apply?

The full time PhD students who submit their thesis within 5 years on enrolment in the PhD programme can apply. Students who submit their thesis within five years and six months are also eligible.

To apply, candidates need to visit the official website- iitk.ac.in. Click on PhD fellowship application process link. Fill the registration form with details and upload documents. Pay the application fee and save the registration form pdf. Take a print out to be used for further reference.

Eligibility criteria

The candidates need to have at least one accepted or published research paper as the first author in a reputed journal. The fellowship is applicable to students from Y18 batch onward.

About FARE fellowship

The candidates entitled for the fellowship programme will get a financial support for upto 12 months with a with a stipend equivalent to that of the institute’s post-doctoral fellows, along with additional research-related grants.
