IIT Roorkee received a staggering donation of Rs 5 crore from 1999 batch of its alumni in a reunion meeting

Roorkee: A silver jubilee reunion of the 1999 (B.Arch 2000) batch of the IIT Roorkee sete a miestone, when the alumni donated Rs five crore towards various initiatives. This is the largest batch donation ever received during a Jubilee Reunion, according to an institute press release here on Saturday. This donation will support a high-tech ambulance, stand at LBS stadium, 175th Anniversary gate, financial aid for needy students, and other projects.
Acknowldding the gesture, institute director Prof. KK Panthsaid the connection between the alumni and IIT Roorkee remained a lasting pillar of strength ad thanked the alumni for their support, which enables the. to achieve new milestones. “The 1999 (B.Arch. 2000) Batch has set an inspiring example of this enduring bond with their Alma Mater,” he said.
Dean of Resources and Alumni Affairs, Prof RD Garg said the generosity and dedication of the alumni batch to their Alma Mater was remarkable. One of the alumnus of class of 1999, Ambuj Kumar said “IIT Roorkee is a big part of our identity and shaped us to be what we are. It’s an incredible feeling to get back to the institute and do our small bit.”
