Story of ‘Ikka’ movie

The film revolves around a lawyer named Arjun aka Ikka (Sunny Deol), who has never lost a single case in his entire career. When a powerful and wealthy man named Shauryaman (Akshay Khanna) is accused of attempted murder, the story takes a different turn. At first, Ikka flatly refuses to take the case. But then, a miracle happens, which later turns out to be a medical condition (you’ll have to watch the movie to know more about this), and Ikka appears in court as Shauryaman’s defense lawyer. Meanwhile, Madhurima (Tilottama Shome) leads the victim’s side. To maintain his winning record and save Shauryaman, Ikka puts everything on the line to solve this legal dilemma. But can he solve this legal entanglement? This is the main plot of the film.

Disappointing lack of screenplay and thrills

Audiences expect a great courtroom drama that will keep them on the edge of their seats, raise new questions and leave them stunned by the climax. However, ‘Ikka’ falls short on these criteria. The screenplay of the film is very loosely written, which makes the story feel unnecessarily stretched and drawn out. The real joy of the film can be found in its climax, but you have to be patient till then, as there are no major twists throughout the film. Even from a legal point of view, the film’s plot has several major flaws, making it difficult to accept it as a rational courtroom drama. Some scenes even question the authority of the judge in the court.

Actors of ‘Ekka’ acting

Sunny Deol’s performance is completely different this time. He has acted very naturally, as the role doesn’t require him to shout or use his famous ‘2.5kg arm’. Fans will surely love his old dialogue. on the other hand, Akshay Khanna The character is a little disappointing. He appears in the film in the same old ‘Rahman Dacoit’ avatar, only his name has been changed. His crooked neck and subdued voice seem to annoy rather than impress. Dia Mirza has done full justice to her role and her eyes speak volumes. Sanjeeda Shaikh doesn’t get much to do on screen, but she looks great and Darya Bedi is also very cute. Tilottama Shome completely immerses herself in the role of a scared lawyer and her work is excellent. Vikram Singh, who plays the role of a judge, has a voice reminiscent of the narrator of ‘Bigg Boss’.

Where did the film fall short in terms of direction and writing?

Technically, the camerawork of ‘Ekka’ is average. The background score is well put together in places, but it doesn’t sound very fresh; Sometimes it feels like you’ve heard it before. Althiya Kaushal and Mayank Tiwari had a chance to make a really great film, but they missed it.

Although director Siddharth P. Although Malhotra portrays the lifestyle and workings of senior and junior lawyers well on screen, he succeeds in making the film watchable, but fails to leave a lasting impression on the audience due to a weak screenplay. Sunny Deol’s character in the courtroom has never felt so weak before. Both the film and the cast failed to live up to the expectations created by the trailer.
