Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya was not the first choice for Ikkis, the director wanted to cast this actor.
Ikkis: Ever since the trailer of Bollywood’s Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda’s upcoming film ‘Ikkis’ was released, fans have been eagerly waiting for it. Now finally that time is about to come and the film is going to be released in theaters on the occasion of New Year. Agastya will be seen in the role of Arun Khetrapal in the film. But do you know that Agastya was not the first choice of the makers for this war drama film. Let us know which actor was first offered this film and then how Agastya was cast.
Who was offered twenty-one first?
Recently, the film’s director Sriram Raghavan told in an interview to The Hindu that Varun Dhawan was finalized for Twenty One before Agastya Nanda. The director said- ‘When Varun heard the story, he was very eager to do this project. But when I completed the initial scripting of the film, COVID-19 arrived and I had to change my plans. Sriram Raghavan said that while developing the script, he realized that age is a big deciding factor in the story. In some scenes, Arun Khetrapal, on whom the film is based, is shown to be 19 years old. In such a situation, Varun does not fit in this role.

How did Agastya get offered the film?
Sriram Raghavan further said- ‘Gone are the times when Jeetendra could dance around trees at the age of 40. The script needed a fresh face, and Agastya was 21 when he was cast. I needed an actor who would be committed to this project for the next two to three years. Simply put, this is the story of a boy becoming a man and what Arun did in the last two hours of his life made him a hero. I wanted Agastya to bring out that desire to serve and innocence about the outcome. I think this is reflected in Agastya’s eyes.
