This marks the band’s first performance in Vietnam.

According to event organizers, the band will perform songs with an uplifting spirit and themes that align with the program’s message of “Resilient Rebound.” After their performance in Hanoi, the band will head to Ho Chi Minh City for a show on Dec. 8.

Alongside Imagine Dragons, several Vietnamese artists, including violinist Hoang Ho Khanh Van, will participate in the event. Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra will also perform.

Formed in 2008, Imagine Dragons first gained exposure with the release of their 2012 single “It’s Time,” followed by a string of hits including “Radioactive” and “Demons.” Notably, “Radioactive” spent 87 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, setting a record for chart longevity that had previously been held by American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz’s 2008 single “I’m Yours,” until it was later surpassed by Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd’s 2019 hit “Blinding Lights.”

Named the “biggest rock hit of the year” by the American magazine Rolling Stone, the song also earned Imagine Dragons two Grammy nominations for Record of the Year and Best Rock Performance.

The VinFuture Science and Technology Awards are held annually. At the event last year, American pop singer Katy Perry performed at the event.
