IMD Weather : Heatwave in North, Severe Storm Warning in Northeast India, Know Your State Status
IMD Weather : New Delhi : The entire country is currently facing a severe heat wave. Many states are suffering from heat stroke due to hot summers. From North India to South India, the temperature has soared that even stepping out of the house has become difficult. In many places, life has come to a standstill due to the scorching heat. However, the climate conditions are not uniform in many states—some places have extreme heat, while others have mild (Weather forecast) are showing signs of change. North India continues to experience a heat wave, with temperatures ranging between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius. In the afternoon, the roads are seen to be wet. People are avoiding coming out between 11 and 4 due to intense heat. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted relief. According to the department, the weather may change in the coming days. Due to the influence of westerly winds, rains with thundershowers are likely to start over Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, especially from Sunday.
According to weather department forecast, heat wave will continue in North and Central India for the next three to five days. Heat wave will continue in East India as well, but conditions are likely to change after that. Hilly states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir may experience occasional rain and snowfall. Thunderstorm and light rain is likely over the plains. However, there will be no immediate respite from the heat in Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.

Double hit for Maharashtra
Harsh summer is currently going on in Maharashtra and the temperature has crossed 40 degrees in many parts. Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra are experiencing heat wave. Unseasonal rain and strong winds are likely at some places, while the Meteorological Department has warned to be alert for the next 4-5 days.
Relief soon in Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh is currently facing intense heat. In many districts of Bundelkhand and Purvanchal, the temperature has reached 45 degrees. However, since April 26, there are signs of change in the weather over western Uttar Pradesh. Gusty winds, thundershowers and light rain are likely in many parts till April 28, which will reduce the temperature.
Intense heat continues in Bihar
At present there is little hope of relief in Bihar. Temperatures in many districts have gone above 40 degrees, and the heat wave continues. Although light thundershowers or drizzle are likely at some places on April 24th and 25th, it will not make much of a difference.
Respite from rain in Jharkhand
Weather in Jharkhand can change between 26th to 29th April. Areas like Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad are likely to experience rain and thundershowers with gusty winds. There is a chance of hailstorm in some places, which will reduce the temperature.

Delhi-NCR: First heat, then change
In Delhi-NCR, the temperature has reached 43 degree Celsius and people are suffering due to heat wave. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), these conditions will persist for a few days, but relief is likely after April 26 with partly cloudy skies and light rain.
Heat wave in Rajasthan
Heat wave has reached its peak in Rajasthan. Cities like Jaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner have temperatures between 42 and 44 degrees Celsius. The heat wave will continue for the next few days, but then thundershowers and light rain are likely.
Heat wave will increase in Madhya Pradesh
Temperatures are also rising in Madhya Pradesh. Cities like Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior are likely to see a further rise of 2-3 degrees Celsius in the coming days. A heat wave warning has been issued in many districts, and the chance of rain is low at present.
Climate change in hill states
Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will come under the influence of westerly winds. Thunderstorm, rain and hail warnings have been issued in many areas. This will bring down the temperature, but it is necessary to be careful not to make the weather worse.
Pre-monsoon rains begin in South India
Pre-monsoon rains are slowly beginning in South India. Light to moderate rain is expected over Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. There is a possibility of rain with thunder in some parts of Maharashtra.
Risk of heavy rains in Northeast India
The threat of heavy rains and storms remains in the northeastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Meghalaya. Winds of 60-70 km per hour are likely to blow, lightning and hail have also been warned. Overall, the weather across the country has been very volatile, with extreme heat in some places, while there are signs of relief in others. The next few days will be important weather wise.
