The impact of increasing military tension in West Asia is now clearly visible on air services as well. Meanwhile, Indian airline Akasa Air has announced that it will operate special flights to safely bring back the affected passengers and crew. On the other hand, Air Arabia has temporarily stopped many of its flights to UAE due to security reasons.
Let us tell you, Akasa Air issued a statement on Wednesday saying that a special flight will be operated from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai. This flight QP 585 will depart from Abu Dhabi at 4 pm local time (5:30 pm Indian time). The purpose of this special flight is to safely bring the passengers and crew affected by the current situation to India.
Apart from this, the airline has also announced some special flights to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Flights will operate between Mumbai-Jeddah and Ahmedabad-Jeddah on March 4. On March 5, special services will be run between Mumbai-Jeddah as well as Bengaluru-Jeddah. The airline has clarified that these flights are being operated based on the current safety assessment and are subject to change as per the regional conditions.
However, Akasa Air flights to Doha, Kuwait City and Riyadh will remain suspended till March 5. The airline said that the safety of passengers and crew is its top priority and the situation is being constantly monitored.
On the other hand, Air Arabia also issued a statement saying that it has temporarily stopped many of its flights to UAE till 3 pm (UAE time) on Monday, March 9. According to the airline, only a few limited flights are being operated with the approval of the concerned authorities. Passengers whose flights will continue will be informed directly. The remaining passengers have been advised not to reach the airport until information is received from the airline.
The situation in West Asia remains tense. The security situation across the region has become sensitive following recent military incidents, leading many airlines to make changes to their flight operations. Due to increasing conflict and instability, international flights are also being affected and airlines are constantly taking decisions keeping in mind the safety of passengers.
