Impact of West Asia crisis on airlines, many flights to Dubai cancelled, IndiGo and Air India issued advisory

The effect of increasing tension in West Asia is now clearly visible on airlines as well. In this series, many airlines including IndiGo and Air India on Sunday have issued advisories for passengers regarding flights to United Arab Emirates (UAE), especially Dubai. Due to the changing situation in the Middle East, schedules of many flights have been changed and some flights have had to be cancelled.

Giving information on social media platform The airline has appealed to the passengers to check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport. Besides, notifications are also being sent to give latest updates to the passengers.

Air India said that following the instructions of UAE Airport Authorities, many flights had to be cut on March 15. According to the airline, Air India will now operate only one return flight between Delhi-Dubai, while four out of five flights scheduled to Dubai have been cancelled.

Air India’s subsidiary Air India Express will also operate only one return flight on the Delhi-Dubai route. At the same time, five out of six flights scheduled for Dubai have been cancelled. Apart from this, all five flights of Air India Express to Abu Dhabi have also been canceled for the day.

However, the airline said that flights from Sharjah to Delhi, Kannur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram will continue. Flights can also be operated from Ras Al Khaimah to Kozhikode and Kochi, but this will depend on slot availability and operational conditions.

Airlines have given passengers affected by canceled flights the option to rebook tickets on a new date without any extra charges or get a full refund. The airlines apologized for the inconvenience and said that they are trying to take the stranded passengers to their destination as soon as possible.

In fact, due to the ongoing tension in West Asia, the prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) have also increased. For this reason, many airlines like IndiGo, Air India and Akasa Air have recently implemented fuel surcharge on domestic and international flights.
