Important meeting of America, Japan, Australia and India in Delhi
An important meeting of foreign ministers of Quad countries will be organized in the last week of May in the Indian capital New Delhi. Top diplomatic representatives of India, America, Japan and Australia will attend this meeting.
New Delhi: Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting is likely to be held in New Delhi in the last week of May. This meeting is taking place at a time when the regional and global geopolitical situation is constantly changing and concerns are being raised especially about China’s increasing strategic activities.
Foreign ministers of United States, India, Japan and Australia will attend this meeting. The main topics of discussion will include important issues like critical minerals, emerging technologies, supply chain strengthening, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) and maritime security.
Strategic focus will be on China’s policies
The main agenda of this meeting will be to balance China’s growing economic and military ambitions. It will be discussed between the Quad countries how to strengthen regional stability and the rules-based international order. This forum is considered an important diplomatic platform to promote cooperation and security in the Indo-Pacific region.

The meeting is likely to discuss a number of important global and regional issues, including:

US Secretary of State’s visit to India
Before this meeting, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit India on a bilateral visit. His visit is being considered very important from the point of view of India-America relations. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore has expressed enthusiasm about this visit and said that it will further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Quad cooperation will get new momentum
This meeting of the Quad will be the first meeting of foreign ministers to be held in India after 2023. Earlier, dialogue has been going on at many levels between India, America, Japan and Australia, but this meeting is being considered as an opportunity to take the strategic partnership to a new level. However, no official announcement has been made yet regarding the possible Quad summit.
Meanwhile, the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit held in Maryland, USA saw large participation from Indian investors. According to the US Embassy, Indian companies have announced investments worth about $20.5 billion in the US, reflecting the growing confidence in the economic ties between the two countries.
Biggest investment from pharma sector
The largest share of this investment has come from the Indian pharmaceutical sector. The companies have proposed an investment of more than $19.1 billion for research and development and expansion of new facilities in the US. Additionally, 12 Indian companies have announced greenfield and expansion projects worth more than $1.1 billion in various US states.
India and America together have set a target of increasing bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030. Both countries are pursuing it as a balanced, transparent and mutually beneficial economic partnership.
