Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Miracle’ at Box Office: After a slow start, ‘I will be back’ is running housefull, earned so many crores in 12 days
Bollywood veteran and famous director Imtiaz Ali, who makes unconventional films, is celebrating the box office success of his recently released film ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ (Main Vaapas Aaunga). This film is getting a lot of love from the audience and critics. The film stars great actors like Sharvari Wagh, Vedang Raina, Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah in lead roles. Imtiaz Ali himself has now given a big and very emotional reaction to this wonderful and unexpected response at the box office. After a slow start, ‘Housefull’ boards in theaters. It has been the specialty of Imtiaz Ali’s films that they make their place in the hearts of the audience with time, and something similar is being seen with ‘Main Wapas Aaunga’ as well. Based on a painful and spiritual love story of the India-Pakistan partition era, this film had a very slow start at the box office. But on the basis of strong ‘word of mouth’ (appreciation from the audience), the film gained momentum and now the film is running housefull shows in many big theaters across the country. Imtiaz Ali’s daughter Ida Ali has shared a video on her official Instagram handle. In this video, after a houseful screening, Imtiaz Ali himself is seen talking directly to the audience inside the theater and expressing his gratitude to them with folded hands.
"If people can understand Mahabharata, why not my films?"
Addressing the audience present in the theatre, Imtiaz Ali said, "Heartfelt thanks to all of you for rekindling my hope in cinema and the power of people. I am constantly told in the industry that the common people will not understand this kind of deep cinema. I am told that if you want to please the audience and be successful at the box office, then only make films with a particular formula (masala). But you proved it wrong."
Imtiaz further said something very interesting and said, "I have repeated this a million times in my interviews that if the common people of this country can understand the complex saga of ‘Mahabharata’ so deeply, then why will they not be able to understand my simple films? If they couldn’t understand, then there must be something lacking in me and I am constantly trying to improve myself. But by making this film successful, you have rekindled the confidence of not only me but also of 100 film directors of all languages of this country who want to make something different."
‘King’ director Siddharth Anand also praised the film. Imtiaz Ali’s film is being admired not only by the common audience but also by big Bollywood filmmakers. ‘King’ director Siddharth Anand, who has given blockbuster action films, also took out time to watch ‘I will be back’ amidst his busy schedule. After watching the film, he praised the film on the social media platform ‘X’ (earlier Twitter) and wrote, "What a beautiful and amazing film! Despite it being mid-week (Wednesday), even the first row of the cinema was completely housefull. My salute to the entire team of ‘I will be back’ (MVA). The audience should immediately go to the theaters and experience this great cinema."
