In the video, he tells a worker, “In Bihar, you can get a girl for Rs 20-25 thousand, let us get you married.” This incident is being reported from Shitalakhet mandal of Someshwar assembly constituency. In the video, the minister’s husband was asking a young man, Naveen, how old he is and why he was not married. After this he made this controversial comment citing marriage and children.

Congress Seva Dal said attack

Soon after the video went viral, Congress attacked BJP and the minister. Congress Seva Dal tweeted and wrote that this statement reflects the thinking of Uttarakhand government towards women. He said that such insult to women of any state is unacceptable. Girdhari Lal Sahu has been in controversies before also. However, till now no official clarification has come from Minister Rekha Arya and her husband in this matter.
