In case of deaths in Basti district, private hospitals are being blackmailed, IMA becomes a bystander.

Settlement. The private health department of the district is in panic due to the continuous deaths in the private hospitals of the district and the blackmailing being done on them. The slowness of the IMA regarding deaths in the private hospitals of the district has increased the restlessness of the hospital administrators, the private hospital operators are cursing the IMA even in subdued language. According to the information received, more than dozens of registered private hospitals are operating at the district headquarters alone and hundreds of OPDs are being conducted every day in almost all the hospitals.

Some of these patients are dying due to the negligence of the hospital administration, but in most of the cases, the patients are dying naturally or due to the seriousness of the disease because no private hospital operator would want any patient to die in his hospital and his institution would be brought into disrepute. Despite all this, the relatives of some patients blame the hospital administration for their deaths and blackmail their operators and demand huge ransom.

Currently, the latest example of this is the case of PMC Hospital and Dr. Tariq going on in the district. It is also worth mentioning here that despite such a disaster in private hospitals, IMA, the organization which works to provide life to them, remains a mute spectator. Dr. Anil Srivastava, the leader of IMA in Basti, who has been in control of the association for decades, probably also remains unaware of the incidents of death and blackmailing. Sources have even said that the IMA in Basti is limited to just collecting donations. Hospital administrators, on the condition of anonymity, said that what is the justification for such a sham institution which is not useful in our happiness and sorrow.
