In Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi saluted sports achievements, said – 2025 is a year of pride for every Indian.

Tezzbuzz Desk- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’, specifically mentioned the historic sports successes achieved by India in the year 2025. This was PM Modi’s last ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program of the year, in which he praised the achievements of the Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams, women’s visually impaired cricket team and para athletes.

The Prime Minister said that 2025 was a very memorable year for India in terms of sports, in which the country achieved many big achievements on the international stage.

In the Mann Ki Baat program, PM Modi said, “2025 gave us many such moments of which every Indian was proud. From the security of the country to the sports grounds, from science laboratories to the big stages of the world, India left a strong impression. This year was also memorable in terms of sports.”

PM Modi said that Indian players not only won but also inspired the entire country with their passion and hard work.

Referring to the achievements of the Indian men’s cricket team, the Prime Minister said that Team India brought glory to the country by winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. India had won this prestigious title by defeating New Zealand under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma at the beginning of the year. This tournament was India’s first ICC trophy under Gautam Gambhir as coach.

After this, India achieved another big success by defeating Pakistan in the final of T20 Asia Cup played under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav.

PM Modi also especially praised the historic achievement of the Indian women’s cricket team. The Indian women’s team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, won the World Cup title for the first time by defeating South Africa in the final of the ODI World Cup played in India. With this, India became the first women’s team from Asia to win this global tournament.
