The PCB had booked an entire floor of the hotel for the five competing teams and team officials. A source said that except five players, all the cricketers and officials were at the National Stadium either for a match or a net session when the fire broke out.
The source said, “The five players were in their rooms when the fire broke out. “This has caused damage to some property of players and officials.” “Following the fire incident in the team hotel, the PCB has decided to cancel the National Women's ODI Tournament 2024-25 in Karachi,” the PCB said in a statement.

“Fortunately no players were injured as the PCB immediately evacuated the five players who were in the hotel at the time of the incident and safely transported them to the Hanif Mohammed High-Performance Centre,” he said.
