Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya participated as the chief guest in the “Buddha Jayanti and Talent Honor Ceremony” organized by All India Shakya Mahasabha at Saini Bhawan in Mangolpuri, Delhi.
Addressing the function, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the message of Lord Buddha is eternal. Today Lord Buddha is worshiped in about 40 countries of the world and crores of people there are followers of his path of peace and compassion.
He said that the Honorable Prime Minister and Honorable Home Minister chose your own leader (me) from among the entire country for the historic task of sending the holy relics of Lord Buddha to Russia. This is an unprecedented honor for the entire society and Uttar Pradesh.
Underlining the importance of education, Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the respected Prime Minister has a clear dream that “whatever the compulsion, education is very important.” Education is the only powerful medium for empowerment of the society. He called upon the people of the society to provide higher education to their children.
