BJP made Nitin Naveen the new national president, Congress raised questions
New Delhi. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Nitin Naveen as its new national president, causing a stir in political circles. Congress raised questions on the process, saying that BJP had already announced the president, while the formalities of the election were announced later. The party alleges that this process is not transparent and it raises questions on the internal democracy of the BJP.
Congress’s forced question
Congress media chief Pawan Kheda said that if this was an election, then what happened to the process? He tried to know how the names were first decided and then how the elections were discussed. Congress is of the view that organizational elections in BJP have become just a show, and the real decisions are already taken behind closed doors.
Sharp attack on Election Commission
Congress also mentioned Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on this issue. Pawan Kheda sarcastically said that the Election Commission had no involvement in the process, so there was no opportunity for them to “manipulate”. Congress has earlier also raised questions about the electoral processes and through this statement it has further intensified its opposition.
Taunt on ‘Boss-Boss’ politics
Congress also took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement in which he had said that Nitin Naveen is his boss in party matters. Pawan Kheda said that in BJP sometimes someone becomes someone’s boss and sometimes someone else. Calling it a game of ‘Boss-Boss’, he said that such statements are diverting attention from the real issues of the country and the people.
Ganga bathing controversy also raised
Congress recently mentioned the controversy involving saints and sages regarding bathing in the Ganga. Pawan Kheda said that on one hand the prominent saints of Hindu religion are hurt, on the other hand BJP is busy in the game of power. He termed it not politics, but a show like ‘Bigg Boss’, where new drama is seen every day.
Congress’s opposition to urban Naxal
Congress launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his remarks regarding the urban Naxal problem. Citing the old reply of the Central Government, the party asked whether the Prime Minister believes that anyone who speaks against him will be considered an urban Naxal. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that in 2020, the Home Ministry had clarified that the term ‘Urban Naxal’ is not part of the official language.
Deep reaction to the latest statement
This resistance from Congress came after the speech in which the Prime Minister described ‘urban Naxal’ as a threat to the country after the election of the new party president at the BJP headquarters. Modi said that these people target the government or those who speak in their favor and try to isolate them socially. Congress has demanded that the Prime Minister clarify whether every disagreement will be viewed from this perspective.
