Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore urged Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to soon pay the dues for development and welfare schemes in a backward state like Jharkhand. He said that Rs 2900 crore of coal royalty, Rs 32 thousand crore of common cause and Rs 1 lakh 1,142 crore of land compensation i.e. a total of Rs 1.36 lakh crore are outstanding at the Centre. He further said that Jharkhand has wealth in its womb but poverty in its lap. There is a need for special assistance from the Center in the development and welfare schemes of the state. Along with this he also demanded a new project in Jharkhand.

Radhakrishna Kishore also demanded the Central Government to build Ranchi-Kolkata and Ranchi-Patna Expressway. Said that special assistance should be provided to insurgency affected Jharkhand for five years. While demanding the outstanding amount in the demand letter submitted to the Finance Minister, he said that the state government has a vision along with a multidimensional plan for the overall development of semi-developed Jharkhand. But the state is unable to meet this from its internal sources of income. Financial support from the Central Government is necessary for the all-round development of the tribal dominated state, hence the outstanding amount should be paid.
