According to Ayurveda, it is essential to have a limited level of lubrication for the body to function smoothly. The thing to note here is that we are not talking about bad fat (pizza, samosas, processed food) but about good fat.
Why is good fat important in the diet?
Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble in our body. If you stop consuming fat, your body will not be able to absorb these essential vitamins, increasing the risk of malnutrition.
Our brain is largely made of fat. Good fats like omega-3 fatty acids help in the exchange of information between neurons. Its deficiency can cause problems like depression, Alzheimer’s and memory loss.
Fat is needed to produce the body’s two most important hormones, testosterone and estrogen. Lack of good fats in women directly leads to menstrual and reproductive problems.
Include these things in your diet
To keep yourself healthy, take desi ghee, raw ghani oil (mustard, coconut or sesame), walnuts, almonds, flax seeds, avocado and olive oil in limited quantities. This fat gives new life to your cells and makes the body strong from within.
