Names of 2.89 crore voters deleted in UP SIR process, final draft to be released on December 31

Lucknow. The work of special intensive revision (SIR) of voter list in UP has been completed. Names of 2.89 crore voters have been deleted in UP. State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa had said that before SIR, there were a total of 15 crore 44 lakh voters in UP.

According to sources, there are 1.26 crore voters who have permanently shifted out of UP. 45.95 lakh voters have died. There are 23.32 lakh duplicates. 84.20 lakh are missing and 9.37 lakh have not submitted the form. Due to increase in the time period of 15 days in UP, about two lakh voters have increased.

According to information received from sources, now there will be no extension of time in the SIR process. The final draft will come on 31st December. Most of the names have been cut in Lucknow and Ghaziabad. 30 percent names were cut from Lucknow and Ghaziabad. The deadline to fill the form is till 12 midnight on 26th December. According to the Election Commission, if anyone has any objection then he can submit the claim by giving the documents. The second phase of SIR will run till February 2026. After this, the final voter list will be released on 14th February.
