New Delhi: India won the three-match series 3-0 by defeating Afghanistan by 9 wickets in the third ODI played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Team India achieved the target of 219 runs in just 28.4 overs.
Yashasvi, Rohit and the shine of the famous
The heroes of India’s victory in Chepauk were Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma and Prasidh Krishna. Prasidh Krishna bowled lethally and took 5 wickets for 23 runs and broke the back of Afghanistan. In batting, Yashasvi Jaiswal played an unbeaten inning of 110 runs. This was the second century of his ODI career.
He hit 14 fours and 3 sixes in 86 balls. Whereas Rohit Sharma scored 79 runs on 69 balls. His innings included 9 fours and 3 sixes. Rohit was caught by Mohammad Nabi at the hands of Sediqullah Atal. After this, Yashasvi and Shreyas Iyer did not give any chance to Afghanistan. Shreyas remained unbeaten on 20 runs.
Afghanistan’s innings faltered
