The third and last match of the 3-match series between India and Afghanistan is going on at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. In this match, Afghanistan team is batting first after winning the toss. Indian captain Shubman Gill has made 3 changes in the team. KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav and Arshdeep Singh are out. In their place, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harsh Dubey and Prasidh Krishna have entered. Pace bowling all-rounder Nitish did not play in the last match due to injury. Upon his return, Rahul was made to sit, which enraged the fans.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been given another chance as an opening batsman. He will open with Rohit Sharma. Shubman will come at number-3, while Ishaan Kishan will come at number-4. After this Shreyas Iyer will enter. Due to this unexplained change in the batting order of Team India, Rahul had to sit out. It is understood that Yashasvi has been sacrificed to make him fit in the playing XI. An X user said on this decision of the team management that Rahul is treated like a lab rat.
