IND vs AFG: Are Rohit-Hardik fit to play in Afghanistan ODI series?

After the only Test match to be held in Chandigarh, the excitement of the fans is at its peak regarding the three-match ODI series to be played between India and Afghanistan. After the only Test starting from June 6, the ODI series between the two countries will start from June 13. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had already announced Team India for this important series, but a big and latest update has come out regarding the fitness of the senior players.

Actually, regular captain Rohit Sharma and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya have been included in the announced ODI team, but BCCI has made it clear that their entry on the field will completely depend on ‘fitness clearance’.

Hardik will reach Bengaluru’s ‘Center of Excellence’

According to a recent report in ‘Times of India’, vice-captain and all-rounder Hardik Pandya is going to reach BCCI’s Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru to prove his fitness. Hardik will spend about a week there, where his match fitness will be assessed and only after getting clearance, he will join Team India for the ODI series against Afghanistan. However, the report also states that the board had also directed Rohit Sharma to report to the CoE, but at present no official update has come regarding Rohit’s current fitness status and his arrival in Bengaluru.

These 6 bowlers will set the nets on fire before the test match

On the other hand, the team management has strengthened its preparations for the only Test match against Afghanistan starting from June 6. Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Aaqib Nabi Dar has been specially called as a net bowler to give practice to the Indian batsmen. A lot of questions were raised over Aaqib not getting a place in the main Test team. Apart from Aaqib Nabi Dar, five other lethal bowlers have also been invited to the nets. These include fast bowlers Gurjapaneet Singh and Prince Yadav as well as spinners Saransh Jain, Zeeshan Ansari and Shivang Kumar.
