New Delhi: The Indian cricket team has suffered a big setback before the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. Star batsman Virat Kohli is out of the entire series due to hamstring injury. In his absence these players may get a chance.
Virat Kohli’s exit from the series

There is news quoting BCCI sources that Virat is out of the entire ODI series. However, no official announcement has been made by BCCI yet.

Young players may get a chance
Due to Virat’s exit, there is a vacancy in the team. There is a possibility of Yashasvi Jaiswal or Rituraj Gaikwad being included in the team. Jaiswal was recently a part of the ODI series against New Zealand but did not get a chance to play. Whereas Gaikwad has performed well in the middle order against South Africa last year.
Doubt over Rohit Sharma’s fitness
Rohit Sharma has also been included in the team on the basis of fitness test. Due to hamstring problem during IPL 2026, his playing the entire series is still in doubt.
