IND vs AFG ODI Series 2026: Rohit-Kohli’s return confirmed! BCCI announced test and ODI series

The Indian team is currently busy with the T20 World Cup 2026, where it will face England in the second semi-final. After the tournament, Team India will play Test and ODI series against Afghanistan on home soil. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the official schedule of this series on March 2.

Home series after World Cup

As soon as the World Cup ends, the Afghanistan team will visit India. 1 Test and 3 match ODI series will be played between the two teams. The first and only Test match will be played in New Chandigarh from June 6 to June 10. After this the ODI series will start.

Complete schedule of ODI series

The three-match ODI series will be played in different cities in June:

June 14, 2026 – 1st ODI, Dharamshala (1:30 pm)

June 17, 2026 – 2nd ODI, Lucknow (1:30 pm)

June 20, 2026 – 3rd ODI, Chennai (1:30 pm)

Test Match:

6–10 June 2026 – New Chandigarh (9:30 am)

Rohit and Kohli return

Captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli will also be a part of the team in this ODI series. Both the players are currently playing mainly in ODI format for India. Rohit and Kohli were last seen in the ODI series against New Zealand. In that series, Virat Kohli performed brilliantly and scored 93, 23 and 124 runs. Whereas Rohit Sharma’s bat remained silent and he scored 26, 24 and 11 runs.

Hope of comeback against Afghanistan

Rohit Sharma would like to make a strong comeback in this series against Afghanistan. Whereas Virat Kohli will try to continue his excellent form. This series, played in home conditions, is considered important for the Indian team in terms of preparation for the upcoming international challenges.
