A young player has been given a chance in the only Test match between India and Afghanistan. Rajasthan’s left-arm spinner and all-rounder Manav Suthar has finally made his Test debut for India. He was capped by Team India in the ongoing Test match at Mullanpur and became the 319th player to play Test cricket for India. Consistent performance in domestic cricket, impressive performance in IPL has given Manav Suthar this big opportunity.

Team India travel from Rajasthan
Manav Suthar was born on 3rd August 2002 in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. Suthar is a left-arm orthodox spinner who is also a left-arm batsman. He represents the Rajasthan team in domestic cricket. He made his first-class cricket debut against Andhra on 17 February 2021–22 Ranji Trophy. Also, he also made his T20 International debut in 2022 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Madhya Pradesh.
Gujarat added Manav Suthar to the team in 2024. Gujarat showed their faith in him by buying him back for Rs 30 lakh for the 2025 IPL season. They then retained him at his original price for IPL 2026. Manav Suthar played a total of five IPL matches in three seasons from 2024 to 2026. That team is led by Shubman Gill. Interestingly, after the IPL, now he has got a chance to debut in the Indian team under the leadership of Gill. GT team reached the finals of IPL this year.

Strong performance in Ranji Trophy
Manav Suthar has made a tremendous impression with his spin in domestic cricket. Manav has taken 129 wickets in 62 innings from 29 first-class matches. He has taken 10 wickets three times, 5 wickets six times and 4 wickets eight times in a match. Also, he took 8 wickets in an innings for Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy, his best bowling performance in first-class cricket.
Manav Suthar made his list ‘A’ debut against UAE ‘A’ in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. He has taken 34 wickets in 25 List ‘A’ matches, with a best of 3/32. Also, he has taken 25 wickets in 29 T20 Internationals.
