The second day of the ongoing one-off Test match between India and Afghanistan at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullampure has come to an end. At the end of the second day’s play, Afghanistan’s first innings score is 113/5. Rahmat Shah is currently unbeaten on 43 runs. Spinner Manav Suthar took three wickets on his debut, while the famous Krishna took two wickets. According to the first innings total, the Afghan team is still trailing by 451 runs. The Indian team declared their first innings at 564 for the loss of 8 wickets.

India continues to dominate Afghanistan

Afghanistan’s first innings got off to a poor start. Opener Abdul Malik was dismissed for just 16 runs off the bowling of debutant Manav Suthar. The famous Krishna then dismissed Sedikulla Atal for 17 runs on a wonderful delivery. Suthar then dismissed Rahmanullah Gurbaz for 12 runs to put Afghanistan on the backfoot. Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi looked in good form but could not make a big knock. The famous Krishna dismissed Shahidi on runs. Then, before the end of the second day’s play, Manav Suthar dismissed Asif Zazai for 3 runs to take India’s fifth wicket. Now all the hopes of the Afghan team rest on Rahmat Shah.

India’s brilliant batting

In the Mullapur Test match, Indian captain Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bat first. Manav Suthar, who made his debut in international cricket, was selected in the Indian team for this match. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant got off to a cautious start in the first session of the second day’s play. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant made an important partnership of 48 runs. The Afghan bowlers also bowled at the right stage. Mohammad Salim Safi gets India’s fourth wicket by dismissing Shubman. Gill faced 177 balls and was dismissed for 126 runs. Finally, India declared the innings at 564-8.

The first day of the match was completely in favor of the Indian team. Opener KL Rahul scored his 12th Test century with a 100 off 165 balls to get the team off to a strong start. This innings consisted of 11 fours. After that, captain Shubman Gill also scored a moderate but effective innings of 126 runs. Gill also completed his century in 138 balls with 11 fours and a six. It was Gill’s 11th Test century. Young batsman Sai Sudarshan once again proved his quality by scoring 81 runs. With the partnership of these three, India created pressure on the Afghanistan bowlers.
