Indian team close to victory in the first test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Bumrah wreaked havoc after Yashasvi and Virat's century.
sports desk : In the first test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy being played between India and Australia, the Indian team gave a target of 534 runs to Australia. While chasing this big target, the Australian team lost three wickets in scoring just 12 runs. Australia now needs 522 runs to win while India needs seven wickets.
30 minutes before the end of the third day's play, the Indian team declared the innings after scoring 487 runs. With a lead of 46 runs, the Indian team's score became 533 runs. For India, captain Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets while Mohammad Siraj took one wicket. At the end of the day's play, Usman Khawaja was playing after scoring three runs.
Bumrah trapped Nathan McSweeney (00) LBW in the very first over of the innings, after which Siraj got captain Pat Cummins (02) caught by Kohli in the slips. Bumrah LBW star batsman Marnus Labuschagne (03) which proved to be the last ball of the day.

India declared the second innings over on the third day of the first cricket test against Australia after scoring 487 runs for six wickets. India, which had a lead of 46 runs in the first innings, set a target of 534 runs for Australia. For India, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 161 runs, Virat Kohli scored 100 not out and Lokesh Rahul scored 77 runs.
Jaiswal and Rahul also made a record partnership of 201 runs for the first wicket. After becoming the first Indian opening pair to complete a 200-run partnership in Australia, Rahul was caught by wicketkeeper Alex Carey on Starc's angled ball.
When the Indian team was in trouble after Jaiswal's dismissal, 36-year-old Kohli (100 not out, 143 balls, eight fours, two sixes) took charge and scored his first and overall 30th Test century since July 2023. He made an unbroken partnership of 89 runs for the sixth wicket with Washington Sundar (29) and 77 runs for the seventh wicket with Nitish Kumar Reddy (38 not out).
